Tech Support Alert: U.S. Payroll Round 4 tax tables have released – North Dakota

By - July 13, 2015

Microsoft announces the following important releases:

  • Dynamics GP U.S. Payroll March 2015 Hot Fix
  • Dynamics GP U.S. Tax Update Round 4
  • Dynamics GP Canadian Payroll 2015 Mid-Year Update (Inclusive of the March Hot Fix and Fixes for ALL Versions)

Microsoft Dynamics GP U.S. Payroll 2015 March Hot Fix for supported versions 2013 and 2015

This hot fix provides reporting and program code changes for the ACA (Affordable Care Act) features in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and Microsoft Dynamics GP 2015. It includes code changes for specific reporting requirements that your organization must generate and submit to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) by February 28, 2016. The update must be installed on the server as well as every workstation that runs Microsoft Dynamics GP.

Businesses are required to submit Form 1095-C, Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage, as well as Form 1094-C, Transmittal of Employer-Provided Health Insurance Offer and Coverage Information Returns, if they meet the criteria for being an applicable large employer (ALE). See specifics on each type of form below:

Form 1095-C will be generated by employers with more than 50 full-time workers. The form, which employees will submit in 2016 with their 2015 tax returns, lists the number of full-time employees for each month and the coverage that’s available for each employee.

Note: Forms 1095-A and Form 1095-B also are part of the Affordable Care Act and are not part of this hot fix. Form 1095-B is filed by insurance companies; Form 1095-A is filed by health insurance exchanges that have been set up in some states.

Form 1094-C is also submitted to the IRS by ALEs and includes the following information:

  • Employer identification, including address, phone number, employer identification number
  • The number of people employed
  • The name of a contact person
  • The number 1095-C forms that employer has submitted to the IRS

The 2014 year-end tax update, released in December 2014, included four new windows that support compliance with the ACA that can help you collect and manage information that is submitted on Form 1095-C. The windows are:

  • Health Insurance Setup window
  • Health Insurance Enrollment window
  • Employee Dependents window
  • Affordable Care Act Codes window

Note: Once the hot fix is installed, you can review the ACA data you’ve been tracking since applying the year end update by creating the Year End Wage file. You can create the file before the next payroll in your live system or preferably in a TEST company. This will allow you to assess the forms and the data you have captured to date, similar to reviewing your W2 information prior to closing. You can then simply remove the Year End Wage file.
