eXtremeCRM 2014 and What to Expect for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015

By - October 10, 2014

After three days of eXtremeCRM 2014, Microsoft has left many high expectations for the future of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. While we did not get a chance to see Dynamics CRM 2015 in action, we do know Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 will address core business processes, core applications functionalities and overall user’s experience.

Several highlights were presented at eXtremeCRM for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 which I thought are much needed:

  1. Multi-entities search – Keep in mind, this functionality already exists for the Dynamics CRM 2013 mobile app only, and cannot be done using the Dynamics CRM web browser or Dynamics CRM Outlook client. Hence, for those clients that want a global search in Dynamics CRM, this is definitely a welcomed enhancement to searching for records.xTreme CRM 2014 1
  2. Aggregation, rollup, summing of data – At the present time, if you want to aggregated or sum data from one entity to another entity (ex: sum est.revenue from all Opportunities to a field on related Account), you would need to either write custom JavaScript or creates a plugin. In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015, these complex calculations can now be done for you without having to write any custom code, saving you money and time.
  3. Hierarchy Structure Visualization – Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 will allow you to build and see the records relationships in a more defined visual. This will expands into security and let you set up hierarchy security model to allow managers to view and see records of their teams easier.xTreme CRM 2014 2
  1. Outlook and Sync Enhancements – Configured field level sync directions. This functionality gives the user more control if they want to share a particular field data to Dynamics CRM or not.xTreme CRM 2014 3

In my opinion, most of the new features for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 mentioned so far seem very useful and add more productivity to the CRM application. According to Microsoft, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 is slated to be released at the end of 2014 or Q1 of 2015.
