The Top 10 Salesforce Spring ’26 Updates That Nonprofits Should Know

By - February 6, 2026

The Salesforce Spring ‘26 release is here! To help understand the new features and updates, we’ve combed through the Salesforce Release Notes and listed some of the exciting ones that nonprofits should be aware of.

Program and Case Management

  1. Lower the Barrier to Entry with Guest Access

Prospective program participants can explore your organization’s programs and benefits on an Experience Cloud site without signing up or logging in. When a prospective participant is ready to move forward, they can quickly submit a referral to start the intake process. This frictionless experience makes it easier to engage with prospective program participants and reduces barriers to participation.

  1. Streamline Participant Intake

The new Intake app enables coordinators to efficiently manage the enrollment process through the Create Application flow, expediting the initiation of new intakes. When participants enroll in multiple programs, overlapping form sections are automatically deduplicated, requiring information to be entered only once. The Complete Application flow automates the creation of enrollment records and cases, facilitating a smooth transition for case managers.

  1. Confirm Participant Program Eligibility

Streamline your application process, reduce manual errors, and enhance the participant experience by instantly verifying program eligibility. Using the Business Rules Engine, you can set detailed eligibility criteria for each program and quickly view eligibility of a prospective participant, enabling faster decisions and preventing non-compliant enrollments.

Fundraising

  1. Improve Donor Experience with Self-Service Donor Support Agent (Beta)

Provide donors with the ability to manage their recurring gifts independently through an Experience Cloud site. With the Donor Support Agent (beta), donors can quickly make common updates, such as adjusting gift amounts or changing their giving frequency. This feature delivers the fast, self-service experience today’s donors expect.

  1. Tailor Gift Entry Experience

This update is one that really excites our team because it was needed to make the Gift Entry Grid fully functional. Salesforce Admins can customize the Gift Entry Grid to match their organization’s unique fundraising processes. They can create and manage multiple templates, adjust which columns appear, and incorporate custom Lightning components for functions such as payment processing. This makes gift entry more efficient and allows users to input accurate information faster.

  1. Streamline Gift Entry with Flexible Tools

Salesforce has been listening to the feedback clients and partners are giving them on what is needed for fundraising. Gift Entry now supports $0 gift transactions. This has been a necessary change, and they are delivering this update in the ‘26 release! Additionally, backdated transactions for gift commitments can now be added from the Gift Entry Grid. It’s exciting to see these updates to the Gift Entry Grid for efficient and effective ways to create any type of gift in Fundraising.

Volunteer Management

  1. Manage Volunteer Shifts with the Shift Capacity and Coverage Agent

Quickly spot shifts needing sign-ups and easily connect the right volunteers to them by using the Find Unfilled Shifts and Match Volunteers to Shifts custom actions within the Shift Capacity and Coverage Agentforce topic. The Find Unfilled Shifts action helps you search for available shifts based on open slots, time frames, and, if needed, by Volunteer Initiative or Job Position. Meanwhile, the Match Volunteers to Shifts action pairs volunteers with shifts according to timing, location and necessary qualifications.

Marketing

  1. Create emails faster with the new Email Builder for Salesforce Foundations

With the new Email Builder Lite in Salesforce Foundations, marketers can efficiently create emails by selecting from a library of pre-designed layouts or constructing custom emails using a range of available components. All created emails can be readily accessed for future use and repurposed as needed.

  1. Enhance Content Creation with Marketing Cloud Next

Marketers can streamline content creation by using reusable blocks and templates. They now have the ability to build dynamic emails with advanced editing, attachments and scripting while maintaining control through template locking and sharing features. Additionally, marketers can enhance engagement by adding dynamic landing page content, implementing progressive profile forms and designing branded preference pages.

Grantmaking

  1. Complete Forms with a Mobile-Friendly Design and Simplified File Management

The grantmaking application framework lightning record page components for Overview, Section, and Review will now be fully responsive and mobile-friendly; allowing for a more seamless user experience regardless of the device the end user is on. A big pain point with the individual application framework has been handling attachments on the applications.  Many applications require some attached files for the review and documentation process. The Spring Release will include a new component that can be used in flows and Flexcards to make managing those attachments easier.
