This is Part 2 of our 2-part series on Joining Windows 10 Devices to the new Microsoft Azure Active Directory. Please see this link for Part 1.
According to Microsoft Power User, Windows 10 is now a staple in the business world, recently surpassing an install base of over 50 million business PC’s. The new operating system is faster and safer than previous versions of Windows and offers application compatibility in a user-friendly environment.
On your Windows 10 device, navigate to the Windows settings control panel by clicking Start, then clicking on the Gear icon on the lower left-hand side. See figure 5 below.
Next, navigate into the Accounts section, and then into Access work or school. See figure 6 below.
Click on the Connect button to access the appropriate account dialog box.
In the dialog box, you will see two alternative actions at the bottom of the menu. Select the option to Join this device to Azure Active Directory, as shown in figure 7 below.
Click Next, and sign in with the account that will be using the device. Alternatively, once the device is set up with an administrator’s account, you can have any licensed user log in to that device with their Office 365 credentials.
You will be asked to confirm the organization information before joining Azure AD.
Congratulations! Your device is now enrolled with Azure AD. As the final prompt states in figure 9 below, you should be able to log out of the current account and log in to the domain or Office 365 account. This process can now be repeated manually for other machines, or it can be automated if you have a large number of PC’s or laptops to deploy.
