White paper – Transitioning to Microsoft Dynamics AX: Evaluating data migration solutions

By - July 23, 2013

As many Microsoft Dynamics GP users evaluate their ERP systems needs, they no doubt look within the Microsoft Dynamics suite at Microsoft Dynamics AX.  What you may not expect is that the data models between the two ERP systems are very different and surprisingly, there is no Microsoft tool to assist in the end-to-end process.

In McGladrey’s white paper, Transitioning to Microsoft Dynamics AX: Evaluating data migration solutions, we evaluate the six common methods for transitioning data and identify the issues and benefits traditionally associated with each.

Ultimately we would recommend utilizing a product that has been specifically written for the task at hand.  These are the most beneficial solutions for a move to Dynamics AX from any ERP system.  The migration process is complex and a tool provides repeatability, flexibility and reliability.  Tried and tested, these products deliver value in that they allow an organization to avoid going through common problems that those who develop a solution on their own routinely encounter.

The authors of this white paper are Specialists in Microsoft Dynamics ERP.  Ren Bellu has long tenure in the Microsoft Dynamics GP community with over twenty years of ERP implementation experience and John Hannan specializes in the configuration and implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX having completed implementations at over 200 locations.

RSM has been helping our clients for over thirty year maximize their Microsoft Dynamics ERP investments.  If you would like more information on this white paper or our services for Dynamics ERP, contact our professionals at erp@mcgladrey.com or by phone at 855.437.7202.
