With SuiteWorld just days away and many having not previously attended, this top eight list will give you an idea of what to mark on your calendars. We’re another year down from the acquisition of NetSuite by Oracle, and I think most would agree that the transition has been fairly smooth. The theme to this year’s conference is, “Ready, Set, Grow.” With the Oracle foundation behind NetSuite, we’re likely to hear some aggressive plans on growth and see many examples of how companies today are growing with NetSuite.
While there will be a lot happening during the conference, here are 8 things to do to get the most out of SuiteWorld.
- Keynotes – Back to a more traditional approach to keynotes from previous years, we’ll see the following lineup:
- Tuesday, 4/24 – Main keynote with Jim McGeever.
- Wednesday, 4/25 – Product keynote with Evan Goldberg and
- Thursday, 4/26 – Keynote with Jason Maynard. Part of that keynote will include NBA hall of fame legend Magic Johnson.
- Monday Partner meeting – (US Solution providers, SDN, Alliance & International partners). If you’re a NetSuite partner, these are can’t miss events. You’ll hear from the NetSuite GBU leadership team and get an inside view to some of the topics that will land on the keynotes the following days. Partner awards are also distributed. Could RSM be up for Partner of the year for the 6th consecutive year?
- Walk the expo floor – Visit with solution provider, alliance and SDN partners. And of course stop by RSM’s booth #522. The conference will build in some natural breaks from the education tracks to spend time in the expo. I know many will want to hit the casino floor, but resist that urge until the conference day has wrapped up. Visiting with SuiteWorld sponsors can help you bridge the gap on your go-forward strategy with NetSuite and draw connections between issues you’re facing in your business and how NetSuite can solve those.
- Important to note: With the recent go-live of Steiner Sports on the NetSuite solution, we’ve seen them partner up with NetSuite to bring celebrity athletes to events to enhance the experience. SuiteWorld will be no different. In addition to the Thursday keynote with Magic Johnson, We’ll see the following lineup at the Steiner Sports booth in the expo hall where you can take pictures and get autographs:
- Monday, 4/23 – 5 – 7pm – NBA Legend Bill Walton
- Tuesday, 4/24 – 12 – 2pm – World Series winner and Yankee Legend Bernie Williams
- Wednesday, 4/25 – 12 – 2pm – NBA champion Dennis Rodman
- Important to note: With the recent go-live of Steiner Sports on the NetSuite solution, we’ve seen them partner up with NetSuite to bring celebrity athletes to events to enhance the experience. SuiteWorld will be no different. In addition to the Thursday keynote with Magic Johnson, We’ll see the following lineup at the Steiner Sports booth in the expo hall where you can take pictures and get autographs:
- Attend opening reception – on 4/23 in exhibit hall 5-7pm. The expo floor will be packed, and it really is a great way to start networking for the week. You’ll be surprised at how many folks you’ll run into later in the week that you met at the opening reception.
- RSM reception – (4/24) VIP reception for RSM’s clients and friends. Here’s the plug for my company that is hosting a VIP reception. Reach out to your local RSM reps for an invite.
- Rock Show gala event (for fun) – The Royal Machines are back and we’ll get another awesome rock show! Special guests are TBD at this point. From personal opinion, I still don’t think we’ve had anything as good as having Billy Gibbons, Billy Idol and Ozzy Osbourne. Let’s see if they’re up to the test!
- Book meetings – schedule shorter meetings for the first part of the week and follow ups for more in-depth meetings on Wed/Thurs. You’ll be surprised at how fast the week flies by. With most people around on Tuesday, don’t miss your chance to network and connect with as many people as possible. Making those connections then and setting up meetings to talk more in-depth later in the week will help you prioritize and maximize your time.
- Education sessions – Fill your schedule with key education sessions. It can be overwhelming with the number of sessions available, so ensure you use the conference agenda planner and select sessions that align with your goals for your business. Leverage the filters to see beginner vs. advanced sessions, as well as filtering for industry/product specific sessions.
If you’d like to find RSM at the conference, we’ll be at booth #522. You can see a full list of where we’ll be here, RSM at SuiteWorld 18.
