New Copy Function in SuiteBilling 

With the recent publication of the 2023.2 Release preview in Netsuite, there have been exciting new updates related to SuiteBilling! One notable feature is the new ability to copy existing Subscriptions as well as Billing Accounts. 

 According to the release notes, “the copy button creates a new subscription which opens in create mode with most fields sourced and automatically filled from the original record.”  

Recreating subscriptions manually can be a time-consuming and complicated process. We tested the highly anticipated feature to find out more!   

How to use the New Feature  

On a Subscription Record  

1. Navigate to an existing Subscription. 
   1. Navigate to the Subscription 
      1. Transactions > Subscriptions > Create Subscriptions > List 
         1. View Subscription record  
      2. On the Subscription Header
         1. Under Actions, Click Make a copy

1. A new Subscription page will open 
2. Click Save – and the new Subscription will be created

On a Billing Account Record  

1. Navigate to the Billing Account Record  
   1. Lists > Relationships > Billing Accounts > List  
      1. View the Billing Account  
   2. On the Billing Account Header 
      1. Under Actions, Click Make a copy  

1. Click Save – and the new record will be created  

The user should be aware that some custom fields cannot be copied, and some fields may be copied over that the user may want to review, such as pricing. Users should be careful in reviewing the copied subscription before activating and saving. Please reach out to learn more about what fields and records are copied. 

The new feature can be especially helpful for subscriptions that have been incorrectly closed or modified as users can quickly create a new subscription with the original information. It can also be helpful for recreating subscriptions with complicated pricing details, that previously have been a tedious and manual process. Overall, the new feature is easy and makes a time-consuming process simple!
