We’ve spent the last few months highlighting the AI-driven features being integrated into Sage Intacct. From Sage Copilot, an automated assistant that handles routine tasks, to more specialized tools for expense tracking, outlier detection, and revenue management, the developers have shown a serious commitment to AI.
That’s clear from the number of new tools and features that have been released, along with their consistent quality and value. Sage Intacct has quickly become one of the most “AI-friendly” financial management platforms on the market, making cutting-edge technology both accessible and impactful for every kind of accountant.
It’s just as apparent from the way the developers have worked to consistently improve and expand on the existing AI tools. Instead of just making the toolkit bigger, they’re always making it better, putting time and resources into upgrading each feature.
As a result, we need to briefly pause our series on new AI in Sage Intacct to share some updates on tools we’ve already covered. They’re maturing fast, in ways that will be exciting for every user. Here’s what’s new.
Sage Copilot
This AI-driven assistant was already quite accomplished, but some of the most impressive features are now being rolled out.
- Close Workspace – Users in the early adopter program now have access to a centralized close environment where they can customize and automate tasks, track status updates, and find red flags. With a unified and automated place to handle the entire period close, the process has never seemed so simple.
- Close Automation – Automated tools to help run variance analysis and track the close process were previously only available to people in the early adopter program. Now they’re generally available to help anyone with Sage Intacct complete their close more efficiently.
- English Support – All English-speaking regions around the world can now rely on Sage Copilot for search help, with support for more languages and regions expected soon.
Intelligent Time
Tracking labor hours and costs becomes even easier with the addition of these new features:
- Overtime Rules – Tell the system what overtime rules to follow, and it can now automatically calculate overtime payments from timesheets so that everyone gets paid properly while accountants spend less time juggling data.
- Timesheet Customization – Additional customization options for timesheets give accountants more options for adapting these documents to their existing needs and processes rather than doing the reverse just to leverage AI.
- Leave Management – Start tracking leave requests directly in timesheets, including requests, approval workflows, and time balances, rather than working across multiple systems and data sources.
AP Automation
Expanded email functionality allows accounts payable to run almost completely on autopilot:
- Auto Forwarding – A new email domain supports email forwarding rules, allowing you to automatically pass emails along instead of taking the time to do it manually and potentially making a mistake.
- Inline Attachments – The same domain now allows emails to include inline attachments that are not extracted for processing, making the automation functional with more emails and preventing obstacles to the automatic flow of information.
- Transaction Processing – Transactions included in the body of the email can now be read automatically instead of having to be extracted and recorded manually. The automation can also now read attachments in the HEIC file format used by iPhone cameras, opening another way for people to submit invoices.
Purchasing Automation
Participants in the early adopter program can experiment with this new tool for purchasing automation:
- Line Level Matching – Unleash automation that can read original documents from vendors and populate the information into the correct field in the Purchasing module, saving accountants tedious manual work while reducing the risk of accounting errors. Matches get consistently better over time with the help of machine learning that adapts to avoid repeating errors and inefficiencies.
