Cisco SD-WAN is a cloud-based network solution that simplifies and secures the connectivity between branches, data centers, cloud applications, and remote workers. With Cisco SD-WAN, you can optimize the performance of your network, reduce costs, and enhance security.
The latest Cisco & RSM recommended release of Cisco SD-WAN is version 20.9, which introduces some helpful features that can benefit your business. Here are some of the highlights:
- Dashboard Enhancements: The Monitor Overview Dashboard has been given a face lift for 20.9 and now includes more visibility and insights into how well your Cisco SD-WAN environment is operating. The ability to see loss, latency, jitter, and QoE for individual tunnels and circuits across the enterprise is now consolidated into a single view. Additionally, 20.9 adds customizability to the Monitor Overview dashboard. It gives you the flexibility to specify which dashlets to view and sort them based on your personal preferences.
- Multi-Factor Authentication: Cisco SD-WAN 20.9 introduces native integration with DUO to secure Cisco vManage with multi-factor access. Ensure the management of Cisco SD-WAN is as secure as the rest of your network edge, by integrating vManage with your existing DUO tenancy for ease of access with single sign on.
- Enhanced application visibility and control: You can now monitor and manage over 4,000 applications with Cisco SD-WAN, including SaaS, cloud, and on-premises applications. You can also apply granular policies to prioritize, limit, or block traffic based on application type, user group, location, time, and more.
- Improved cloud integration: You can now connect to multiple cloud providers with Cisco SD-WAN, such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud. You can also leverage Cisco Umbrella Secure Internet Gateway (SIG) to protect your cloud traffic from threats and enforce compliance.
Cisco recently announced a rebrand of the Cisco SD-WAN portfolio of products which will be seen in the next long term release, 20.12. In addition to the overall platform being rebranded from Cisco SD-WAN to Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN, the following components will receive new names:
