Several of our Dynamics GP customers who have deployed the Binary Stream Multi-Entity module have experienced a random sort order when attempting to use the Segment Range parameter on their SSRS MEM trial balance reports. This can be very frustrating when you have to scroll to find the first and last accounts.
It turns out the MEM trial balance reports are utilizing a stored procedure called BSSI_seeglSRSAccountListing to generate the list of segments used in a particular company database.
This stored procedure can be quickly modified with an order clause to correct the sorting for all MEM trial balance reports. Make a backup of the company database and then right click on the stored procedure and select modify. Scroll to the end of the stored procedure in the new query window and add “order by SegmentListing”.
Click execute and the stored procedure will be updated and you will now be able to see your account segments listed in the proper order.
You will need to modify the stored procedure for all company databases where MEM is being used if you want to sort the segment ranges properly.
