For many of us, Microsoft 365’s variety of applications make the completion of our everyday workplace tasks possible. Excitingly, Microsoft just announced that some new quality of life updates will be coming to the apps that we all know and love. This blog post will provide an overview of what to expect with the latest and greatest features announced for Office apps, OneNote, Lists, and To Do.
Default Theme for Office Applications (See More Here: New Office theme)
The upcoming Office Theme introduces a refreshed color palette and a new default font named Aptos, enhancing the modernity and accessibility of Microsoft Office documents. While the theme only alters document appearance, not the Microsoft 365 interface, it signifies a shift towards contemporary design standards. The previous theme, now called Office Theme 2013–2022, remains available. This update is part of Office’s commitment to fostering a user-friendly and inclusive environment for content creation. Administrators have guidance on setting the default font, and you can anticipate the availability of Aptos soon.
Sticky Notes App FINALLY Comes to OneNote (See More Here: Introducing the new Sticky Notes app for Windows)
The new Sticky Notes app for Windows is a revamped tool aimed at enhancing note-taking efficiency. The main highlight here is the app’s seamless integration with OneNote, allowing users to capture thoughts and ideas quickly, sync notes across devices, and access them on the go. The app supports various functionalities, such as taking screenshots within meetings or video content, and provides a convenient way to revisit previous captures with auto-generated source links. Available currently in preview, this experience promises to boost productivity with its intuitive design and user-friendly features.
SharePoint List Forms (See More Here: Collect information like a pro New Microsoft Lists forms…)
Microsoft Lists has introduced a new forms experience, designed to streamline the process of collecting information directly into lists. This update features a modern design that allows quick form creation and sharing within an organization, ensuring that the form fillers only see the form and not the entire list. The submitted responses are added as new list items, benefiting from list functionalities like formatting and automations. The forms are accessible via shared links and can be filled out on any device, with the assurance that form submitters cannot view the entire list or gain additional permissions.
To Do’s New View (See More Here: Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365)
Microsoft is enhancing the user experience of its task management app, Microsoft To Do, by introducing a grid view for tasks. This new feature, rolling out April 2024, will be available on the web version of Microsoft To Do and within other applications such as Microsoft Outlook. The grid view will provide users with a more organized and visually appealing layout to manage their tasks, improving productivity and task tracking.
