Retail Price Simulator for Dynamics 365

By - May 29, 2018

The Retail Price Simulator in Dynamics 365 offers users the ability to test out pricing on items that may have discounts, trade agreements or price adjustments linked to them. This is a great tool to use, as sometimes pricing for retail items can get tricky when you have multiple pricing options. Not to mention, sometimes items are linked to different catalogs, affiliations, loyalty programs and coupon codes. By using the pricing simulator tool in the Retail module (available in both Dynamics 365 for Retail and Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations), users can verify pricing before updates are pushed to retail channels, and use it as a tool to fix pricing errors much easier than before.

You can find the price simulator by navigating to Retail > Pricing and discounts > Price simulator. Here, you can create a new price simulation and add several parameters to the simulation.

In this screenshot, you can see a new price simulation and specified running this simulation for the Houston channel, using the Fabrikam base catalog and the student affiliation. On the Sales line FastTab, you can specify the items you want to run the price simulation for. You can add one line or several lines as you need.

In the screenshot below, you can see the price simulation. This is on the Transaction summary FastTab. This shows the subtotal of the item, item discounts, and the total margin on the item. Additionally, this form will display all the discounts and trade agreements that are linked to the sales lines that have been added to the price simulator.

The Retail Price Simulator is a really useful addition to the retail module that will enable retail users to verify retail pricing and make the entire testing process much easier than before.
