NetSuite SOAP API Retirement: What It Means for Your Business—and What to Do Next

By - April 16, 2026

Oracle NetSuite is drawing a clear line in the sand. Beginning with the 2026.1 release, NetSuite will no longer issue new SOAP web services endpoints by default. For organizations that rely on SOAP-based integrations, this is not a routine platform update—it is a defined deprecation cycle with a fixed end point. Acting early is the difference between a controlled migration and a costly disruption.

What’s Changing

The final regularly scheduled SOAP release is 2025.2, which will be supported through 2028.2. Starting with the 2026.1 release, new SOAP endpoints will be issued only under exceptional business or technical circumstances.

Each existing SOAP endpoint now follows a three-year support lifecycle. Once that window closes, the endpoint is deprecated and no longer supported. Oracle has already retired older endpoints, such as WSDL 2018.1, and this cadence will continue with each future release.

Why This Matters to Your Business

If your organization uses SOAP for ERP synchronization, invoicing automation, or third-party integrations, this change introduces real, time-sensitive risk. Once an endpoint reaches end of life, it receives no updates, patches, or security support. In practice, that can mean:

  • Silent workflow failures with little or no warning
  • Broken automations across connected systems
  • Unpatched security vulnerabilities in production environments

This is not a hypothetical scenario. It is a scheduled transition—and the clock is already running.

What You Should Do Now

Oracle’s guidance is clear: upgrade to the 2025.2 SOAP endpoint as soon as possible and begin migrating to REST web services using OAuth 2.0 authentication. REST is NetSuite’s preferred integration framework going forward—more secure, more scalable, and better suited to modern integration needs.

At RSM, we help organizations navigate this transition with a structured, low disruption approach:

  • Integration audits to identify every SOAP dependency
  • Lifecycle risk assessments to prioritize migrations by business impact
  • SOAP endpoint upgrades to secure support through 2028.2
  • SOAP to REST API migrations using secure, scalable OAuth 2.0 flows
  • Parallel operation and validation to minimize disruption during the transition

Your Migration Timeline

Phase  Window  Action
Audit and prepare  Now  Inventory SOAP integrations and define migration scope
Secure coverage  Now  Upgrade endpoints to lock in support through 2028.2
Migrate  Now – 2028.2  Execute a phased transition to REST APIs
Modernize  Ongoing  Reduce legacy protocol dependencies and optimize architecture

Don’t Wait for Failure to Force the Conversation

Organizations that treat this as urgent can migrate on their own terms, with time to test, validate, and train. Those that wait risk broken integrations, reactive scrambles, and compounding technical debt.

RSM brings deep NetSuite and integration expertise to guide your team from assessment through go live, backed by our NetSuite application development and integration services.
