Microsoft Dynamics CRM Next Major Service Update in December 2012

By - November 26, 2012

If you are using Microsoft Dynamics CRM online, then the upcoming month of December will make your CRM investment much more prominent. With the December 2012 service update, several new exciting features have been customized to expand users overall experiences, increased effectiveness of applications and enhanced MSCRM 2011 to a new level.

Below are several new highlights coming to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011:

  • Updated User Experience (new user interface)
  • Browser flexibility (You can now run MSCRM 2011 using Safari, Firefox, and Chrome)
  • Yammer & Skype Connection
  • Bing map
  • Safari on iPad for sales users
  • Collaborative Selling
  • Office 2013 compatibility
  • Platform & Compliance

The Service Update has added function to the Dynamics CRM sales process to be more fluent and faster in various Stages and Steps. For example, in my experience with the current Dynamics CRM Sales Process, you needed to search for Leads or Contacts first before adding a new one into Dynamics CRM. This update replaces that step with a new process control tool to set a Qualify Stage with an “identify” Step.  The identify Step eliminates the need to manually search if the lead or contact exists already in Dynamics CRM. By having these different configurable Stages and Steps, you can modify your sales process so they are made simpler.

The redefined user interface (UI) will give a better perceptive of your Leads to associated Opportunities, or Contacts to Associated Accounts. By this, it will shows a connection grid view based on new updated user interface. For those that prefers to still use the old UI, there is an option to retain that as well.

One of the most exciting feature in this Service Update is being able to use Microsoft CRM 2011 with 100% full functionalities on mobile devices at no additional costs. This gives users greater flexibility and freedom to your mobile sales force.

Many of the features mentioned will help increase your user’s productivity, layout your organization objectives in a more defined way and add greater value to your current Microsoft Dynamic CRM investment.
