First Taste of Convergence: CRMUG PreGAME 2014

By - March 4, 2014

I was told that Monday would be the PreGame for Microsoft Dynamics Convergence, which officially begins tomorrow, so I figured it would be a light day and a great opportunity to get my feet wet as a first-timer… boy was I wrong!

The “Pregame” is designed to give User Groups of the different Microsoft Dynamics products (AXUG, GPUG and CRMUG) an opportunity to meet each other as well as get an opportunity to meet and learn from ISVs and Partners. The Welcome and General Session are a great way to kick-off the Convergence experience giving attendees the opportunity to hear all about new releases via the CRM Roadmap. During this session, I learned that Microsoft will be releasing nine different pieces in the next year that will cover areas from CRM, Social, Marketing and Parature.

The following session was also incredibly informative. During this session attendees gained knowledge on the different types of Business Process Management: Business Process Flow, Business Rules, Real-time workflows and Actions. The session focused on each of the new features and included the tips, tricks and traps of each. Seeing the features side-by-side allowed for a great opportunity, as a consultant, to help solidify my approach when applying specific solutions for a client.

The concluding sessions of the day focused on customers. As a Consultant, I enjoyed hearing first-hand the honest and open experiences that each of the customers have experienced. The opportunity to learn directly from customers on how we may better their experience from upgrading to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013, to learning how we may better communicate with them was an amazing opportunity.

All in all, today’s experience was a pleasant surprise and much more than I had anticipated it to be. The caliber of the sessions that were put on today, the “Pregame” day, only promise a much richer experience for the week to come. I cannot wait for tomorrow!
