Update Rollup 14 for Dynamics CRM 2011 (UR14) is now available. It is primarily a break/fix release squashing several Outlook client side usability issues and differences from the web client, a couple issues around the mail templates, an issue that would cause the Email Router to stop sending email, and others. No new functionality is added with this Update Rollup (UR). As a reminder, with a couple rare exceptions, almost all CRM update rollups are cumulative – meaning they include all of the previous rollups’ fixes and UR14 is no different in this regard. As such, you need to be aware of the changes in Update Rollup 12 (UR12) which in many ways should be treated in the same way as a major release. There were some great performance and functionality enhancements such as support for browsers other than IE (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) in UR12. But there were also some changes that could impact your install, especially if you are using JavaScript libraries that are dependent on other libraries. See Microsoft’s post regarding Update Rollup 14 and the included UR 12 changes for more information or give us a call.
As with all system changes, be sure to test it thoroughly in your Development, Test or Staging environment using mature testing processes and be sure you have a recovery plan in place before deploying this rollup to your CRM installation.
