Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 update 0.2 is released for on-premises customer. This update contains mostly hotfixes and support functionality.
- Changes worth noting in this update.
- Support for Windows 10
- Support for Microsoft Edge
- Support for Android
- Support for the .NET Framework 4.6
- Change to Export Data to Excel feature.
The change to export data to Excel is an improvement, because there are times where you will need to export more than 10,000 records, which then you would need to adjust Excel configuration or an export tool. However, now with this update 0.2, you can export to 100,000 rows of data out to Excel right out-the-box.
As for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 on Microsoft Edge browser, I noticed before this update, it was slow in loading certain forms or custom scripts, certain function doesn’t always work right, and felt not compatible with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015. With this update, it seems to be on par with Internet Explorer version 11 or better. Again, the variable difference in performance depends on how many webresources/plugins/customizations are in your CRM environment, but I find it to be much better than before.
So, the final question is should I update to 0.2? Well, yes, because Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 on-premises only have one update so far (0.1), and besides the bug fixes for update 0.1, this update adds support for some of the latest technologies and enhances the export data to Excel functionality.
